Open House

Please come to a relaxed, playful open house at Hope Farm!

Sunday, June 12th  11am-2pm

You need not come the whole time, this is your chance to meet me, your children to play and ask questions.

The program we are trying to create here was first intended primarily for 6-10 year olds. Writing, ability to collaborate respectfully in a group and some reading skills are helpful and on some weeks necessary. It was exciting to see so many of you were interested in a simultaneous group for older children 11-15 and a younger group for ages 2-5.

With some creative moves on our part over the last few weeks we believe we can accommodate all three groups nicely, with willing parents to step up and lead.

Ages 2-5 Seedlings
Ages 6-10 Sprouts
Ages 11-15 Saplings *Please note: Numbers will need to be limited to 8 students for the Saplings, to make sure they have enough space.
Many of you wondered about the fees, which have changed with more mapping out. Our initial budget did not include supplies and curriculum for projects for a third group, let alone the large response for the youngest group. The obvious answer to address increased costs is was needing to increase the family fee to cover costs for all the groups. This remains a very reasonable program and we think this will be a fun part of your week your family will anticipate and not want to miss.

To cover operating costs (insurance, maintenance and supplies/curriculum) the updated fees are as follows per semester (12 and 13 weeks respectively):

Family fee
$360

Family fee when adding violin lessons:
$560 + cost of music CD and your violin rental
Please note: needs four+ students to run the violin lessons

More topics to be covered in the open house:
What are violin lessons like?
What will the programming for the younger group be?
How will parents assist and what is expected while we are here?
Are the age requires hard rules or just guidelines?
Will all the families "get in?" Will there be enough space for everyone who wants to join?
What supplies will be provided by the co-op, what would we need to bring?

Your part: Please RSVP for the open house, and please send me any more questions you have that I might not yet have anticipated so I can prepare to answer at the open house. And If you were one of the families with older students interested in our Sapling group, please talk to your kiddo about the proposed programming and send questions and feedback ASAP. I would like a better idea of how many interested tweens/teens we have. I hope to have a good conversation with them at the open house!
